Stud Finders
3 products
Stud finders are handheld devices commonly used in construction and home improvement projects to locate the framing studs within walls. These electronic tools help identify the position of vertical studs, which are crucial for securely attaching objects such as shelves, cabinets, or artwork to the wall. Stud finders work based on the principle of detecting changes in density behind the wall surface. Most modern stud finders use electronic sensors, typically either magnetic or electromagnetic, to locate the studs. When the device is moved across the wall, it detects variations in the wall's composition caused by the presence of a stud. This information is then relayed to the user through visual or audio signals.
