Description
  • Using a tick key, grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible and pull upward with steady, even pressure. Do not twist or jerk the tick; this can cause the mouthparts to break off and remain in the skin. If any pieces of the tick remain in the skin, remove them with tweezers. Dispose of the tick properly by placing it into a sealed bag or container. Cleanse your hands and the bite location on your skin with rubbing alcohol or soap and water afterwards.
